Geo Content

Overview

The Geo Content service allows you to dynamically change content on your website based on a visitor’s location. The content can be any form of HTML created using our WYSIWYG and raw HTML editor.

Geo content is specifically useful for dynamically changing location dependent information such as phone numbers, addresses, links, prices, offers etc. based on the visitor’s geo location.

Start

The START panel contains important setup details of your website

Name

An optional name to identify the Geo Content

Short Description

An optional description for the Geo Content

Your Website

The domain URL of your website where the Geo Content will be used. You only need to enter the domain e.g. http://example.com and not a specific page URL. You can use the Geo Content anywhere on your website include subpages. The URL must include http: or https: depending on if you have an SSL certificate.

Geo Content Status

If this option is ON, the entire content setup will be active.

If this option is OFF, the entire geo content setup including the default content will be inactive

Use this option to easily turn OFF the entire geo content rather than removing the code from your website each time you want to disable the service.

Default Geo Content

The default geo content can be used to display default content to the visitors if they do not match any location segment.

It can be left blank if default content is not required

Content Editor

The content editor provided is a WYSIWYG and raw HTML editor. To access and edit raw HTML, click on the <> button which can be found on the top left corner of the editor.

  2. Add images, links, videos, tables, indents, etc
  3. Add any raw HTML and CSS inline styles

Geo Content  1,2,3….

These Geo Content panels allow you to configure content – location pairs. You can add unlimited number of geo content by clicking the ‘+ Content’ button at the bottom of the setup page.

ON-OFF

Easily turn ON or OFF the specific geo content rather than removing it altogether.

If this option is ON, the specific geo content will be active

If this option is OFF, the specific geo content will be inactive

Location Selector

The location selector allows you to include or exclude countries, states and cities to create a location segment.

To include a location, select its type ‘country, state or city’, select ‘Equal To’, then type the country, state or city name  in the input field.

When entering a name, start typing and the country, state or city names will appear automatically in a drop down list from which you can select.

Once selected, click ‘Add’ to enter it into the location segment.

To exclude a location, simply select ‘Not Equal To’ instead using the procedure above.

Locations

The locations box shows the included and excluded locations that creates the targeted location segment.

Included locations are shown by a ‘+’ and excluded locations are shown by a ‘-‘.

To remove a location, select the location and click ‘Remove’.

You can also import locations from a csv file using the ‘Import’ button. See location segmentation for more information on how to import.

Content Editor

The content editor provided is a WYSIWYG and raw HTML editor. To access and edit raw HTML, click on the <> button which can be found on the top left corner of the editor.

Code

The Code panel provides the required JavaScript snippets to paste into your website.

Geo Content Code (For non SSL domains)

If you website is not SSL protected you can use this script. Paste the script in the BODY of your HTML where you would like the content to appear.

Testing

The testing panel allows simulation of a location to allow you to test how each geo content will look on your website.

Test Mode

Turn ON or OFF test mode using this option.

If this option is ON, test mode will be active and the visitor location will be simulated.

If this option is OFF, test mode will be inactive and the visitor location will be determined using IP address of the visitor

IMPORTANT: Remember to turn test mode OFF once testing is complete or else visitor IP to location will not work and all visitors will have a location equal to the simulated location.

Test Country

Country name to be simulated. Start typing a country name and select a matching name from the drop down. This field can be left blank if country simulation is not required.

Test State

State name to be simulated. Start typing a state name and select a matching name from the drop down. This field can be left blank if state simulation is not required.

Test City

City name to be simulated. Start typing a city name and select a matching name from the drop down. This field can be left blank if city simulation is not required.

Buttons

+ Content

This button will create an additional Geo Content. You can create unlimited number of Geo Content.

- Content

This button removes the last created Geo Content.

Save

This button will save the Geo Content setup for later use.

Exit

This button will exit the setup without saving.
