Geo Image

Overview

The Geo Image service allows you to dynamically change images on your website based on a visitor’s location. The images can have any format and are called using the image URL.

Geo images is specifically useful for dynamically changing location dependent images such as banner ads, coupon ads, offers etc. based on a visitor’s geo location

Geo Image

Start

The START panel contains important setup details of your website

Name

An optional name to identify the Geo Image

Short Description

An optional description for the Geo Image

Your Website

The domain URL of your website where the Geo Images will be used. You only need to enter the domain e.g. http://example.com and not a specific page URL. You can use the Geo Images anywhere on your website include subpages. The URL must include http: or https: depending on if you have an SSL certificate.

Geo Image Status

If this option is ON, the entire image setup will be active.

If this option is OFF, the entire geo image setup including the default image will be inactive

Use this option to easily turn OFF the entire geo image rather than removing the code from your website each time you want to disable the service.

Default Geo Image

The default geo image can be used to display a default image to the visitors if they do not match any location segment.

It can be left blank if a default image is not required

Image URL

The URL where the default image can be retrieved from. Leave blank if default image is not required

Image Title Tag

An optional  title of the image for SEO purposes.

Image Alt Tag

An optional description of the image for SEO purposes.

Image Link When Clicked

The URL link when the image is clicked. Leave blank if link is not required.

New Window?

Option to allow the image link to open in a new window.

Geo Image  1,2,3….

These Geo Image panels allow you to configure image – location pairs. You can add unlimited number of geo images by clicking the ‘+ Image’ button at the bottom of the setup page.

ON-OFF

Easily turn ON or OFF the specific geo image rather than removing it altogether.

If this option is ON, the specific geo image will be active

If this option is OFF, the specific geo image will be inactive

Location Selector

The location selector allows you to include or exclude countries, states and cities to create a location segment.

To include a location, select its type ‘country, state or city’, select ‘Equal To’, then type the country, state or city name in the input field.

When entering a name, start typing and the country, state or city names will appear automatically in a drop down list from which you can select.

Once selected, click ‘Add’ to enter it into the location segment.

To exclude a location, simply select ‘Not Equal To’ instead using the procedure above.

Locations

The locations box shows the included and excluded locations that creates the targeted location segment.

Included locations are shown by a ‘+’ and excluded locations are shown by a ‘-‘.

To remove a location, select the location and click ‘Remove’.

You can also import locations from a csv file using the ‘Import’ button. See location segmentation for more information on how to import.

Image URL

The URL where the geo image can be retrieved from. Leave blank if geo image is not required

Image Title Tag

An optional  title of the image for SEO purposes.

Image Alt Tag

An optional description of the image for SEO purposes.

Image Link When Clicked

An optional URL link when the image is clicked. Leave blank if link is not required.

New Window?

Option to allow the image link to open in a new window.

Code

The Code panel provides the required JavaScript snippets to paste into your website.

Geo Image Code (For non SSL domains)

If you website is not SSL protected you can use this script. Paste the script in the BODY of your HTML where you would like the content to appear.

Testing

The testing panel allows simulation of a location to allow you to test how each geo image will look on your website.

Test Mode

Turn ON or OFF test mode using this option.

If this option is ON, test mode will be active and the visitor location will be simulated.

If this option is OFF, test mode will be inactive and the visitor location will be determined using IP address of the visitor

IMPORTANT: Remember to turn test mode OFF once testing is complete or else visitor IP to location will not work and all visitors will have a location equal to the simulated location.

Test Country

Country name to be simulated. Start typing a country name and select a matching name from the drop down. This field can be left blank if country simulation is not required.

Test State

State name to be simulated. Start typing a state name and select a matching name from the drop down. This field can be left blank if state simulation is not required.

Test City

City name to be simulated. Start typing a city name and select a matching name from the drop down. This field can be left blank if city simulation is not required.

Buttons

+ Image

This button will create an additional Geo Image. You can create unlimited number of Geo Images.

- Image

This button removes the last created Geo Image.

Save

This button will save the Geo Image setup for later use.

Exit

This button will exit the setup without saving.
