The Geo Redirect V2 service is an improved version of the Geo Redirect service with more powerful features.

Free vs Paid

The Geo Redirect service is free to use however the free service will come with a 5 second delay page on redirect. The 5 second delay page will contain a link to Geolify. This delay cannot be changed.

To remove the 5 second delay page and make the redirect instant, impressions will need to be purchased.

Start

The START panel contains important setup details of your website

Name

An optional name to identify the Geo Redirect

Short Description

An optional description for the Geo Redirect

Landing URL

The URL of your website where the visitor will land and be redirected from. The URL must include http: or https: depending on if you have an SSL certificate.

Redirect Status

If this option is ON, the entire redirect setup will be active.

If this option is OFF, the entire redirect setup will be inactive

Use this option to easily turn OFF the entire redirect rather than removing the code from your website each time you want to disable the service.

Advanced

Redirect All Sub Pages Of Landing URL

If this option is ON, then the URL and all including subpages will have the redirect active.

To redirect your entire website, the Landing URL should be your main domain and this option should be ON.

If this option is OFF, the only the Landing URL specified will have the redirect active.

Redirect Visitors From External Source Only

If this option is ON, then only visitors from external sources i.e. search engines, links on other websites or directly typing the URL in the browser will be redirected.

Use this option if you want to prevent visitors from being redirected when they are browsing internally through your website.

Bypass Redirect If Visitor Is From Specified Domains

This option can be used to disable the redirects from working if the visitor lands on your website from specific domains.

This option is useful if you want to prevent the visitor from being redirected if they visited your website from your own partner website.

Geo Redirect 1,2,3…

These Geo Redirect panels allow you to configure URL redirect – location pairs. You can add unlimited number of URL redirects by clicking the ‘+ Redirect’ button at the bottom of the setup page.

ON-OFF

Easily turn ON or OFF the specific redirect rather than removing it altogether.

If this option is ON, the specific redirect will be active

If this option is OFF, the specific redirect will be inactive

Location Selector

The location selector allows you to include or exclude countries, states, cities, IP addresses and coordinate-radius to create a location segment.

To include a location, select its type ‘country, state, city,  IP address or Radius’, select ‘Equal To’ , then type the country, state or city name , IP address or (Latitude,Longitude,Radius) in the input field and then click add.

If entering a country, state or city name, start typing and the names will appear automatically in a drop down list from which you can select.

To exclude a location, simply select ‘Not Equal To’ instead using the procedure above.

Locations

The locations box shows the included and excluded locations that creates the targeted location segment.

Included locations are shown by a ‘+’ and excluded locations are shown by a ‘-‘.

See location segmentation for more information on how to create a targeted segment.

To remove a location, select the location and click ‘Remove’.

You can also import locations from a csv file using the ‘Import’ button. See location segmentation for more information on how to import.

Redirect URL

The URL which the visitor will be redirected to if they match the location segment. It must contain http: or https:.

Pass Query String From Landing URL

If this option is ON, then any query strings from the landing URL will be passed onto the redirect URL

This option is useful for passing affiliate IDs or other useful information through query strings.

Pass Subdirectory From Landing URL

If this option is ON, then the subdirectory path from the landing URL will be passed onto the redirect URL.

This option is useful if you are redirecting visitors to another partner domain that has an identical URL structure match.

Default Geo Redirect

ON-OFF

If this option is ON, the default redirect will be active

If this option is OFF, the default redirect will be inactive

Redirect URL

Code

The Code panel provides the required JavaScript snippets to paste into your website.

Redirect Code

Paste the script in between your website’s opening and closing HEAD tags. For the fastest performance, the script should be pasted JUST AFTER the opening <HEAD> tag.

Testing

The testing panel allows simulation of a location to allow you to test how the redirects will behave on your website.

Test Mode

Turn ON or OFF test mode using this option.

If this option is ON, test mode will be active and the visitor location will be simulated.

If this option is OFF, test mode will be inactive and the visitor location will be determined using IP address of the visitor

IMPORTANT: Remember to turn test mode OFF once testing is complete or else visitor IP to location will not work and all visitors will have a location equal to the simulated location.

Test Country

Country name to be simulated. Start typing a country name and select a matching name from the drop down. This field can be left blank if country simulation is not required.

Test State

State name to be simulated. Start typing a state name and select a matching name from the drop down. This field can be left blank if state simulation is not required.

Test City

City name to be simulated. Start typing a city name and select a matching name from the drop down. This field can be left blank if city simulation is not required.

Test IP

IP address to be simulated. This field can be left blank if IP address simulation is not required.

Test Latitude

Latitude to be simulated. This field can be left blank if latitude simulation is not required.

Test Longitude

Longitude to be simulated. This field can be left blank if longitude simulation is not required.

Buttons

+ Redirect

This button will create an additional Geo Redirect. You can create unlimited number of Geo Redirects.

- Redirect

This button removes the last created Geo Redirect.

Save

This button will save the Geo Redirect setup for later use.

Exit

This button will exit the setup without saving.
